Easy Sweet Sausage Peppers and Onions

Sweet Sausage

3 packages Johnsonville sweet sausage

2 peppers

2 onions

white wine

1 stick of butter

I buy the Johnsonville Sweet Italian Sausage

Begin by putting 1/2 cup of water in a frying pan. Add the sweet sausages.  You may have to add more water during cooking. Sausage tends to stick to the pan so water and keeping a close eye on while browning will help.

Stir frequently!

Pepper and onion time

Chop the 2 peppers

Put into a microwaveable dish

Add 1/2 stick of butter

Add 1/4 cup of water

Microwave for about 4 minutes till tender

Chop the 2 onions

Add 1/2 stick of butter

Add 1/4 cup of water

Microwave about 4 minutes

Add the peppers to the browned sausage but—

Only add 3/4 of the onions

Save the rest of the onions for the side dish- pierogies

Mix the sausage, peppers and onions together

Add 1/2 cup of your favorite white wine

Cook for about 15 minutes

Your home will smell wonderful with this recipe.

I am a little fussy about breads and the rolls I use for this recipe. I love a soft roll like the kind sold in Publix bakery. Cut carbs by skipping the bread and rolls. Eat on a plate.

You can also add a pad of butter to the top of the sandwich.

Fingers full of mozzarella cheese is a treat on the sausage sandwich.
